Karina N. O'Rourke is an artist in the truest sense of the word. While earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the field of Fine Arts Cultural Studies, she was afforded the ability to pursue her interests in theater, dance, painting, and music in an academic atmosphere.
A final semester studying Arts Law, predominantly focused on copyright laws, reignited her aspiration to write at a professional level.
In a direct contrast to academia, the driving force within Miss O'Rourke's life has been unbridled creativity and an uncompromising artistic vision.
Influenced by musicians, inspired by emotions, and encouraged by her parents and immediate friends, a dream has become a reality.
Affectionately known as AeroGem, this self-described "old soul with a young spirit", has lived a nomadic lifestyle within four continents, choosing to make Canada her permanent home.
A very personal name, which made it's debut during the 90's, with the dawn of the internet age. What began as a mere cyber-handle, would become much more in the offline realm.
The alias "AeroGem" is derived from the 1988 album 'Gems', by Aerosmith. Karina accredits the band's music, history, and attitude, as perhaps the greatest influence during her formative years.
The name also appears on Karina's high school graduation ring, solidifying the brand.
